  • Reviewed the website structure and content, then consolidating all findings.

  • Created a content strategy and recommendations, then created a new information architecture and content types.

  • Supported the UX designers in understanding and creating page flows and wireframes.

Government of BC - Developer experience

Project profile

The Government of BC wanted to update its DevHub website. Part of this work is listed in the Platform as a Service project write-up. The other aspect of this service was to figure out how developers needed to access technical content and code approved by the government.

Project outcomes

  • Conducted stakeholder interviews to determine what they expected of the Developer Experience team and to understand the challenges this team might encounter.

  • Working with the nascent Developer Experience team, hosted workshops to analyze findings and create possible opportunities that would address the findings.

  • In further workshops with the team, facilitated discussions around the barriers they might encounter and how to overcome these barriers.

  • Asked the team to prioritize the different opportunities for both impact and effort.

  • Left the team with a clear roadmap for the work it could do to improve the developer experience within the government.

Government of BC - Software as a service

Project profile

The nascent Software as a service team needed to develop a database for tracking which teams within the government were using SaaS products. They also needed to communicate the procurement requirements to public service staff.

  • Conducted extensive one-on-one interviews with different subject matter experts with knowledge in government procurement.

  • Analyzed findings and turn them into a business process.

  • Held several workshops to correct and refine the process diagram.

  • Brainstormed where the process could be improved and identified the type of improvement (such as a content change, a policy change, etc.).

  • Created a domain model and metadata model to detail the field definitions.

  • Supported a junior IA/content writer to create the SaaS website content and understand the procurement process.

Government of BC - Private Cloud PaaS

Project profile

The Private Cloud PaaS team needed to make their service easier to understand and use. Taking a user-centred approach, we needed to create a strategy for consolidating websites and simplifying online resources.

  • Updated an existing persona, created the outline for another persona, and worked with stakeholders to flesh out this second persona.

  • Created a content strategy that considered the different users, content, and the various stages at which users would access the content.

  • Created an information architecture and metadata for a website, technical documentation, and Stack Overflow.

  • Supported a writer as she created content for the private cloud websites and supported developers as they created content for the DevHub website.

  • Onboarded a technical writer, to ensure content met the content strategy goals.

Intel Corporation

Project profile

Intel needed to improve the quality of metadata in the AEM CMS and DAM platforms. Through a research and strategy process, we created a content tagging strategy, the information model to support that strategy, and guided content owners through content retagging.
